Acted as Engineer for this hand-held, battery-powered product which measures body impedance. This impedance value is used in combination with the patient’s weight, height, sex, age to determine total body water, total body fat, and other aspects.
This product design included all electronics and PCB layout (6 layers). Important design elements were battery fuel gauge, Li-Ion battery charging, USB port and its power supply, impedance-matched traces, and high speed length-matched traces for the LCD. The design included several switched-mode power supply designs.
