Acted as Engineer and PCB Designer for these control and power boards. Two products were designed, a desktop and a stand-alone device. Both had unique power requirements with the desktop device needing to charge 12 USB devices while in operation and the stand-alone device requiring switching of the mains power to an installed receptacle.
This product design included all electronics and PCB layouts. 2 different control boards were designed, a USB charging board with 12 ports, and a mains switching board that controlled power to 3 different mains-connections. Important design elements were optimization for different assembly techniques, ease of assembly, isolation of mains power to meet US and international safety standards, and heat/power management.
